Be part of our very first Heritage Jamboree weekend at Klein Tafelberg Training and Adventure Centre (KTAC). 

We wish to make this an annual event and would love to have you part of it.

The program

FRIDAY | 

22 SEPTEMBER 2023

Arrival and check-in at KTAC from 3pm onwards.

Official welcoming ceremony – 7pm.

  • Welcoming.
  • Confirmation of program.
  • Handing out of competition rules.
  • Draw for teams’ positions and groups.
 
 

SATURDAY | 

23 SEPTEMBER 2023

The intension is to have 3 groups of maximum 10 vehicles/teams per group. These groups will then rotate between the 3 competition events planned namely 4×4, airsoft and wall-climb.

The composition of the groups will be determined at the Team Draw on Friday evening, so you will not necessarily be driving with your friends.

Each team will consist of 2 persons, although spectators/passengers in your vehicle will be allowed. They may however not participate and/or assist in any manner.


Wall-climb

  • The team must nominate 1 person of their team to scale the wall.
  • A time limit of 2 minutes is set.
  • The objective it to get to the top as quickly as possible, or as high up as possible within the 2 minutes.
 

Airsoft

  • The team must nominate 1 person of their team to shoot at a static target. The aim is accuracy within a time limit.
  • The other team member must then complete a tactical shooting course, also within a set time limit.
 

4×4

  • The renowned Klein Tafelberg 4×4 route will be driven, but this time with some interesting and fun activities along the way.
  • This is not a 4×4 challenge competition, but fun activities.
 
 

SUNDAY |  

24 SEPTEMBER 2023

  • Heritage Day
  • Anybody can enter a team for the Heritage Cook-off competition. It does not have to be related to the previous day’s competition/ teams.
  • Anything can be prepared, as long as it is cooked on the fire. Wood will be provided.
  • Teams will be judged on various categories (Team spirit, Taste and Theme) and prizes are up for grabs.
  • Any of the other activities (4×4, airsoft and wall-climb) can be booked with KTAC at standard rates.
 
 

MONDAY |

25 SEPTEMBER 2023

  • Check-out at your own leisure.

  • A cash bar is available on site.
  • Wood and ice for sale at the shop.
  • Limited cell phone reception.
  • General camp rules still apply.

BOOKINGS & REGISTRATION

All bookings for the weekend must be made with Elize via email – bookings@kleintafelberg.co.za.

Once your booking is confirmed, a Team Registration form will be sent to you on which you will register your Team for the weekend’s activities.

We will also add you to a WhatsApp Group with all the participants, organisers and sponsors, with the aim to communicate relevant information and to share photos and videos during and after the weekend.

Please note the following:

  • All participants will have to sign a KTAC indemnity prior to commencing of the activities.
  • Your booking is confirmed only once full payment has been received.
  • Closing date for entries is 15 September 2023.
  • A maximum of 30 vehicles/teams can enter for the Saturday’s activities.

The costs below are for the weekend (3 nights).

  • Camping package – R3200 (per stand for up to 4 persons)
  • Glamping package – R5100 (per tent, sleeps 2 persons)
  • Chalet package – R5900 (per chalet, sleeps 4 persons)
  • Additional person per camping stand above 4 persons – R60.000 (a max of 2 extra persons per campsite)

The costs above include the following:

  • Accommodation cost per unit and numbers as listed for the weekend (3 nights)
  • All competition activities on the Saturday (4×4, airsoft, wall-climb)
  • Entry into the Sunday’s Heritage Cook-off (bring your own food/ingredients to cook)
  • Lunch and Dinner on the Saturday, but for the 2 Team Members only.
  • 1 x bag of braai wood per vehicle upon arrival.
  • Big screen rugby for the RSA vs. Ireland match.

Additional/other costs not included as per the 2-person team costing:

  • Saturday lunch and Dinner – R250.00 per person (Adult)
  • Saturday lunch and Dinner – R150.00 per person (Children 12 years and younger)
  • Wood –Bluegum R60 per bag/Rooikraans R100 per bag

SPECTATORS WELCOME

Non-participating vehicles are welcome to join us on the weekend, but please note the following:

  • Enquire to Elize regarding rates.
  • Unfortunately, to avoid congestion on the track, these vehicles will not be allowed onto the 4×4 track on Saturday. They can however do so on the Sunday, at the standard fee.
  • The airsoft and wall-climb can be accessed from a spectator point of view.
  • Spectators will also be subject to KTAC indemnity.
  • Saturday lunch and Dinner is included for TEAM ONLY– spectators or other members of the family can join: R250.00 per person (Adult), R150.00pp for Children 12 years and younger.

Your safety is our upmost highest priority. It is therefore crucial that adherence will be given to all marshals/staff facilitating events.

Please note – NO ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION BY ANY CONTESTANT DURING THE COMPETITION EVENTS ON SATURDAY!! It will result in immediate disqualification.

KTAC is a not pet friendly.
